as much as i like to see frauds exposed, i have to say that this video took the michael moore approach and reaches very wrong conclusions.

Hey Jon,

Yes it’s a very simplistic video. And to be honest NLP and EFT isn’t strictly ’scientific’ yet (more like a technology outside the current scientific paradigm).

Still I believe that broadly speaking there are a lot damaging presuppositions embedded in psychology.

Thanks for commenting btw.

not a problem :). everyone likes comments to know that they are loved.

i’m curious as to what you consider to be some of the damaging presuppositions in modern psychology? psychology is one of those terms that is used quite loosely to describe a whole spectrum of ideas, some of which are hardly accurate or scientific.

I think that the subject / object distinction is not dealt with properly in the Psychology paradigm as it exists today. I know this applies to all scientific paradigms but especially to Psychology because of the subject matter.

i hate to admit that i don’t know too much about the subject/object distinction. is there a quick explanation of that to get me up to speed quickly?

The subject is You the object is the thing outside You that you are observing. Most scientists claim to be unbiased and objective in their observations but the fact is that the outside world is measured in relation to our preconceived ideas, paradigms, beliefs, thoughts and emotions.
